This week, my focus has been converting the old “parlor” into a breakfast room for the inn. I have set up three 2-top dining tables in this gorgeous, sunny front room and I have a 4-top set up in the library, just in case we have a group traveling together!
Now, I am a girl that loves a theme or a cohesive vision, at the very least. The renovation of this inn is no exception. I am working hard to bring it back to its original 1772 glory and I think that the details are just as important as the bones. For example, I found these amazing table linens that are made by The Mountain Weavers. They are each hand-made using traditional 18th-century techniques and are dyed using natural vegetable extracts.
Lit by the glow of the lantern in the early morning hours, you can watch the fog lift as the sun rises right outside the window…take a deep breath, relax with a hot cup of tea, and smile with the knowledge that you are doing what people have been doing in that very spot for 250 years. When you stay at Bliss Farm Inn, you become part of history.
